Large-scale lettings in Elbtower
- HCOB leases at least 11,000m² of office space, with an option on a further 2,000m² over 10 years
- Negotiations with hotel operators close to completion; international luxury lifestyle concepts coming to Hamburg
Hamburg, 16.12.2020 – SIGNA has signed the first lease for Hamburg’s Elbtower. The Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB) will lease at least 11,000m² with an option for a further 2,000m² of office space once the Elbtower is completed in 2025. The contract term is at least 10 years from the start of the lease (with an option for a further 5 years).
The selection of the hotel operator is also close to completion. Renowned international luxury lifestyle concepts, which until now have not been represented in Hamburg, have applied for the Elbtower.
“Even before we started officially marketing the space in spring 2021, we had already found the first major tenants for the Elbtower,” says Timo Herzberg, CEO SIGNA Real Estate Germany. “This early leasing success demonstrates the Elbtower’s high attractiveness with its modern, flexibly configurable spaces and its location.”
Right on the Elbebrücken (Elbe bridges), SIGNA is building the 245m-high Elbtower for completion by 2025. It will be Hamburg’s tallest building and the third tallest in Germany. It will not only mark the limit of the HafenCity development, but will also be the prelude to the entrance to the centre of Hamburg. Civil engineering work is scheduled to begin in spring 2021.
As a mixed-use high-rise with 64 floors, the Elbtower will combine public, mixed-use lower floors comprising retail and restaurants with semi-public uses such as a hotel, fitness and wellness areas as well as co-working spaces with modern and flexibly configurable office space on the upper tower floors. A public roof terrace with restaurant use is planned for the 55th floor.
