- the world’s leading provider of flexible workplace solutions, IWG, will lease around 4,000 m² of office space on floors 38-40
- final negotiations with further prospective tenants
Hamburg, 31 may 2022 – SIGNA Real Estate has signed another long-term lease for Hamburg’s Elbtower. The International Workplace Group (IWG), the world’s leading provider of flexible workplace solutions, will lease around 4,000 m² of office space on floors 38-40 when the Elbtower is completed in 2025.
“We are always on the lookout for unique spaces around the world. The Elbtower with its flexibly configurable space, diverse uses and perfect transport connections in the middle of Hamburg was enough to convince us,” says Stefanie Lürken, sales vice president IWG. “We were quick to secure three floors high up in the tower.”
“As a so-called green building, the Elbtower will set new standards in terms of its sustainability and innovation. Companies like IWG, which is a global leader in flexible working concepts, are a perfect match,” says Timo Herzberg, CEO SIGNA Real Estate. “Demand for the Elbtower’s modern office concepts is very high. We are in the final negotiations with further prospective tenants, so we will be able to announce more tenants shortly.”
The real estate service provider BNP Paribas Real Estate and the business law firm Görg acted as advisors during the leasing process.
The Elbtower – a high-point of architectural and urban development
The 245m-high and 64-storey Elbtower was designed by the renowned architectural firm David Chipperfield Architects. The Elbtower will occupy the eastern end of HafenCity, visible from a distance, and will herald Hamburg’s city entrance on the Norderelbe and the new adjacent major urban development projects Grasbrook and Billebogen.
With their innovative layouts, the publicly accessible lower floors will offer a variety of shops, restaurants, co-working spaces and cultural uses. In this way they will form a public space for Elbtower users and visitors. Here, office users, hotel guests, tourists and Hamburg residents will find a high-quality environment inviting them to linger. Nobu Hospitality will open its first hotel and restaurant in Germany in the Elbtower. The tower itself offers state-of-the-art office space that can be flexibly configurated, providing a home for the working world of tomorrow, including that of Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB). An incomparable view of the city opens up from the public viewing level at a height of 225 metres. Particular importance was attached to the sustainability of the building, which will also meet the highest energy standards.
