Aon leases around 6,300 m² in the Elbtower

  • Germany’s leading risk consultants will lease office space on floors 7 and 8
  • Further leases have already been signed. The pre-letting rate for the office space is already over 30 percent three years before the completion
  • Thanks to its intelligent energy concept, the Elbtower is operated in a CO2-neutral manner

Hamburg, 13. July 2022 – Another successful leasing contract for the Elbtower – SIGNA Real Estate has signed a long-term lease with Aon Germany for the high-rise development in HafenCity. One of the world’s leading risk consultants will relocate its Hamburg office to the Elbtower once it’s completed in 2025 and will lease around 6,300 m² of office space on floors 7 and 8. 

This means that the pre-letting rate for the office space is already over 30 percent three years before the Elbtower’s completion. Further leases have already been signed and will be announced soon.

The Elbtower – an architectural and urban planning icon

The 245-metre-high, 64-storey Elbtower was designed by the renowned architectural firm David Chipperfield Architects. The Elbtower will become the eastern end of HafenCity, visible from afar, and the prelude to Hamburg’s city entrance on the Norderelbe and the new adjacent major urban development projects Grasbrook and Billebogen. Particular emphasis was placed on the building’s sustainability. Thanks to its intelligent energy concept, the Elbtower is operated in a CO2-neutral manner. The heat for the Elbtower is obtained from wastewater heat, district heating and waste heat from production.

The publicly accessible ground floors with their innovative layouts will offer a variety of shops, restaurants, co-working spaces and cultural uses. They will form a public space for Elbtower users and visitors. Here, office users, hotel guests, tourists and Hamburg residents alike will find an excellence that invites them to stay a little longer. Nobu Hospitality will open its first hotel and restaurant in Germany in the Elbtower. The tower itself offers the most modern, flexibly configurable office space, in which the working world of tomorrow will find a home. The public viewing platform, at a height of 225 metres, opens up a unique view of the city.
